WorkingNation is a non-profit campaign and media company whose mission is to shine light on solutions to workforce issues. They focus on creating a pathway for a job seeker to a good job by employing the power of story-telling and media.
Ramona expresses the importance of “doing” as we grow our careers and skillsets through out the length of our work-life. She tells us that “the skill-based nature that the workforce is heading towards needs to be talked about in the media and exposed as opportunities”.
In this episode we discuss the importance of flipping the script and perspective that a 4-year degree is needed to acquire these “high-tech’ jobs at large companies like Google, when in fact you don’t. Just the required skills and some great soft-skills. Which we often learn in places outside of a 4-year curriculum.
