If you're not a lawyer then the details of IP, or intellectual property might feel a bit like a mystery to you, or just another acronym that gets thrown around when talking about creative projects and new businesses. Today we welcome onto the show some very special faculty from Santa Monica Community College to explain to us what IP is, and why it is so important. They will share with us the programs and courses they offer that demystify intellectual property and offer underserved communities equal access to IP education. As the first ever community college to provide such courses, SMC is taking major strides in working towards closing the equity gap for entrepreneurs. Listen in as our host Salvatrice Cummo talks with Sal Veas, Nathan Khalil, and Dana Nasser, the awardees of The Michelson IP Educator of Excellence Award.
